Military medal of the Italian campaign 1859 (France)
Medal awarded on August 11, 1859 by Napoleon III for those soldiers who were participating in the Italian campaign.
It is a silver medal where the reverse bears the legend Campagne d'Italie 1859 and the list of battles fought: Montebello, Palestro, Turbigo, Magenta, Marignan, Solferino.
On the obverse is the face of Napoleon III looking to the left and wreathed in a laurel wreath. Below it is the engraver's signature "BARRE" (Albert Désiré Barre, 1818 - 1878).
