A striking map of Greece. The map for the Route of Xerxes in Greece and For the Expedition of the Young Cyprus, and the Retreat of the Ten Thousand. It is from “METHODE POUR ETUDIER L’HISTOIRE” by L’Abbe Lenglet du Fresnoy, pulished in Paris in 1729.

Xerxes I, (BC519-BC466) called "Xerxes the Great", was the fourth king of kings of the Achaemenid dynasty of Persia. Like his predecessor Darius I, he ruled the empire at its territorial apex.
